
Environmental Policy
At Timber-Tek, the management and staff believe that they have a responsibility to take action to ensure that their business operations cause as little detriment to the environment as possible and that they have a duty to future generations and endeavour to use the earth's resources in a responsible way.
Timber
- Always use softwood from renewable and FSC or PEFC sources.
- Where possible, use hardwood from renewable traceable sources.
- Endeavour to maximise yield from the raw materials we purchase.
Waste
- Approximately 90% of the waste produced is recycled locally therefore reducing transport.
- Softwood shavings are used for animal bedding
- Hardwood shavings are recycled by the green waste company into compost. Green Waste Company website »
- Timber offcuts are sold on site for carbon neutral fuel for wood burning stoves.
Transport
To minimise our carbon footprint, wherever possible, deliveries and survey visits are combined with the journey to or from the workshop.
